Buying is much more American than thinking, and I’m as American as they come. - Andy Warhol

The perfect name for a ychat so decadant, its exterior is painted by Jeff Koons.

In what we imagine is one of Jeff Koons’ biggest works to date, his artwork graces the yacht of big-time art collector Dakis Joannou. While the usual thoughts of yachts feature pristine white ship hulls, the Guilty yacht features a bold World War I inspired camouflage pattern while the architectural side of things was done by Ivana Porfiri. Here’s a lesson for you August 13, 2008
Before you commit to purchasing a piece of art — like, oh, I don’t know, a large ceramic sculpture — from a gallery out of state, please, please do not make the mistake I did.
Get the shipping estimate beforehand. If you ask once and it isn’t provided, ask again. And ask a third time. Make sure you know what it will cost you.
$ Art $ August 11, 2008
I just plunked down four figures for a small ceramic statue that I’ve only seen on a gallery’s website, never in person. I am familiar with the artist, however, as my parents own a piece of his already, so I know I will not be disappointed.
This statue is my housewarming gift to myself. My boyfriend and I are moving into a new loft together.
I feel almost guilty for spending so much on a piece of art when we don’t even own a sofa. However, a sofa doesn’t exactly sustain the soul and inspire delight the way a piece of art does.
So at the end of the day, I think I’ve made a wise purchase.

I love how these illustrations are both adorable and slightly creepy at the same time… with a definite vintage feel, like they were torn out of an old children’s book… too bad the original illustrations are not for sale.
