I always say that if I could wear only one designer for the rest of my life, it would be Oscar de la Renta.
Check out his beautiful resort collection… anyone have $4,000 or $5,000 to give me for ONE dress?

It’s College Football Eve, people! Set out the milk and cookies for Coach Richt! – Amanda, Graduation Day
I couldn’t pick Coach Richt out of a line-up, but Amanda’s glee is contagious even for those of us indifferent to football.

Currently studying BDes Creative Business Development at Manchester Metropolitan University. I am interested in producing eco-friendly pieces which fit into a contemporary home as attractive hand made furniture. I take a playful, inventive approach to designing and manufacturing work which is all made from second hand furniture which has been found discarded around Manchester. The lack of value these pieces have in a modern wasteful society I find surprising, the value for me has always been the individuality and character each piece of metal and wood has due to the weathering which rusts, warps and discolours the materials. – Jamie Ward
Bags by Ashley Watson: created from old leather jackets. Sustainable design using recycled materials, and beautifully executed: brava! This is my favorite one… a beautiful elephant gray perfect for year-round use.

Crows and their relatives — among them ravens, magpies and jays — are renowned for their intelligence and for their ability to flourish in human-dominated landscapes. That ability may have to do with cross-species social skills. In the Seattle area, where rapid suburban growth has attracted a thriving crow population, researchers have found that the birds can recognize individual human faces. – Fascinating NYT article
Save the trees and remove your home or office address from telephone directories’ delivery list (like Yellow Pages).
You know of the The Satorialist (see my blog roll — and this post), a fabulous blog that chronicles beautiful people throughout the world? Meet its superior: the Catorialist.
The perfect name for a ychat so decadant, its exterior is painted by Jeff Koons.

In what we imagine is one of Jeff Koons’ biggest works to date, his artwork graces the yacht of big-time art collector Dakis Joannou. While the usual thoughts of yachts feature pristine white ship hulls, the Guilty yacht features a bold World War I inspired camouflage pattern while the architectural side of things was done by Ivana Porfiri. Look for a spread in next Italian Vogue as well. – Hype Beast
This may be a sign that I am getting older but I don’t immediately dismiss shelter magazines like I once did. An old Domino magazine crossed my path this weekend and I spent an hour reading it. But you know what I really miss? I miss Blueprint.
If precious twentysomething style had a shelter magazine Blueprint was it. I knew the magazine died (I am kicking myself for not getting a subscription to support its killer editorial) but after my Domino experience I figured I could at least enjoy the Blueprint website. WRONG! They let that die too. Come on Martha, how the hell are we supposed to grow up to be like you if we don’t have a good starter magazine?
I would wager precious twentysomethings aren’t spendy enough or they spend on Marni and not Smeg but come on, I am going to hit my mid twenties soon and I am starting to feel the urge to take shelter!
Yes, yes! I remember, and loved, Blueprint! Too sad that it went under, along with that stalwart mother’s magazine, House and Garden.
